Boss Pedalboard Stealing my Tone?

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently got on the boss pedal boards

Because Im lazy and didn't want to build one.. Plus the effect Return and everything seemed handy, i'd just have to plug Board to amp, board to bass and go... But at practice on Saturday I found no matter what I did with the EQ it sounded like crap..

I was Bass into the board, Than Tuner, Boss Chorus, EHX big Muff, Digitech OCT --> Return than the Output to the amp.. I tried taking out the Digitech and than the Chorus, but It still sounded like crap.. Going to do more tests tonight, but do you guys think it could really affect the signal that much?

Tried a search it just came up with intresting threads about doom metal etc... And while i did waste an hour their, I still need to know, why does my pedalboard hate me?

How are you powering it? Methinks you need MOAR milliamps...

I've had mine for a couple of years never had a problem with it, no matter what I stuck in there, Boss or not. Maybe it shorted, a faulty cable or a pedal not properly hooked up ?

I always thought they were tonesuckers, but some people love them. I've usually gone with other devices. I think that since certain devices color tone in different ways, that's just a characteristic of Boss equipment that some like and some don't.

Im powering it with the adapter that came with it, The digi with a separate adapter. The pedals all worked fine It just didn't seem to cut through like usual. But it could still be a pedal. I haven't tried the board by itself yet, which would be my smartest move.

I've never had problem with Boss pedals. That said, I tend to use an LS-2 to help shorten my chain. That might have something to do with it.
