Boss Pedals - MIJ vs. Taiwan

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, all! I tried to search for this question before posting, with no luck.

Is there any real difference in Boss pedals depending on where they are made? I haven't noticed any decline with MIT build quality, as they've always seemed indestructible, but my overall experience is very limited.

I've never been much of an fx guy anyway, so the only Boss pedals I've owned would be my current TU-2, CEB-3 (both MIT), a beat Japanese Octaver in brown (cool, but long gone), and I'm anxiously awaiting shipment of a MIJ GE-7B.

The posts I've read from people who A/B'ed MIJ vs MIT versions said they couldn't actually hear any difference. There are some reasonable arguments about the components or quality control being better in the MIJ's, but again not to enough of an extent that you can hear it.
