well, my amp dropped on my boss BF-3 while i was transporting stuff. lucky my BF-2 arrived the same day, i guess. but you see, the stacked knob that controls res and manual has bent. i managed to manipulate it so the res (middle knob) works normally, but the outer ring has busted off and now twirls around uselessly. so, the res controls the manual as well, when i turn it.
can boss pedals be taken apart and fixed? i'm gonna attempt it tomorrow anyway, but any instructions on how to do so? no huge loss if i can't fix it, considering i got a better (IMO) flanger today anyways. buuuut, it'd be nice to have it working properly. my sister likes it for keyboard stuff.
but yeah, anyways. anybody attempted to fix anything like this before on a boss pedal? any methods? |

It's also nearly impossible to find the exact replacement pots and pot parts from component retailers. So if you're clever you can probably make a somewhat different replacement stacked pot fit in there... but believe it or not, if you call Boss they may just send you a replacement part, I've heard a couple of people having surprisingly good luck with that. |

I'm sure Boss can repair it... but I don't think it's cheap.

oh yeah, i was wondering - is the BF-2 digital or analog? sure as hell sounds a lot warmer and nicer than the BF-3. MIJ BF-2, if that matters. |

If all that is broken is the pot, then you can't really do any harm regardless of whether is analogue, digital, quantum or silicon-life-form-based! Provided you take the normal precautions and care, of course.
Replacing the pot is dead easy. FINDING the new replacement pot is by far the most difficult thing you would encounter in doing this repair.
