| | was that a snowball? | | | | | BOSS power supplies - PSA vs. PSC-100

Please forgive me if this has been discussed already, as I think I remember reading the info here some time ago, and can't find it...
Anyway, I recently acquired an old BOSS BE-5B (my third or fourth one over the years), and want to mount it in my BOSS BCB-60 pedalboard. The board's power supply is the PSC-100, and the BE-5B takes the PSA supply, and I'm wondering if they are compatible with each other?
I have "crossed the streams" with BOSS pedals before, but I just don't want to fry my 21 year old new toy due to being reckless.
Any advice before I start revamping my pedalboard? Thanks!

Considering that the PSC-100 seems to be rated a 9v 1000mA and the BE-5B runs off a PSA (which was around 200mA current output in the 90's) you should be fine provided the Barrel sizes match up (no reason to believe they won't).

| | was that a snowball? | | | | | According to the labels, the PSA-120 outputs 9v @ 200mA.
The pedalboard's PSC-100 outputs 9v @ 1A.
I'm planning on running the BE-5B with my OC-2, CEB-3, and TU-2 all on the PSC-100 supply, if possible. |

Not knowing the current draw of the BE-5B is the wild card (I'm assuming it's under 200mA since it can run off a PSA),....but considering the PSC-100 outputs 1000mA there ought to be plenty of current to power everything.
Edit:
Ah 150mA for the BE-5B,...you should be golden. |

| | was that a snowball? | | | | | The barrels do match perfectly, and I run my old BOSS TM-3 Line Driver (which calls for the PSA supply) with the PSC-100, and have no problems at all.
So would I be safe doing this? |

| | was that a snowball? | | | | | Ok, so the PSC-100 won't harm a pedal with a small draw then? I was concerned with there being TOO MUCH power being sent to the BE-5B and causing damage to the unit.
I would normally not be so damn paranoid about this, but this FX unit is 21 years old and works perfectly, while looking 95% minty. It even still has the removable protective film over the control panel... |

The pedal should only draw the current it needs.
I'm not sure what exactly will kill a pedal in terms of improper power,....but you should be fine. |

I spent waaay too much time last night rearranging my pedalboard and getting some settings down. I may post some pics later on when I get home. Thanks for all the help! |
