Boss PS-5 (chorus content)

I have one and use it for guitar. It is one of my favorite chorus sounds (using the detune feature).

The other day I was doing some recording using Amplitube 3 and I stuck some chorus on the bassline. It sounded huge and awesome. I sounded way more professional and you couldn't actually hear that it was chorus, it just made the bass sound better.

Soooo, I like the detune sound for guitar (have a mono rig) but also moonlight as a bassist and may have a spot in a band soon.

1) It's more of a subtle sound rather than overt (though I can dial it up with more wet sound mixed in and up to 30 cents off the dry signal). Which do you guys prefer for that "special sauce" on bass, heavy or light?

2) Does the PS-5 limit the frequency range of the instrument going through it? Will I lose those lows? Anyone ever tried this?

3) If need to buy a new chorus pedal, what's the best for bass in the 100 dollar range? I've been looking at a Boss CE-20 but I know guitar has a ton of cheaper chorus pedals that sound really nice. Help me on my journeys through bassworld!

I also have a DD-20 and can use that as a chorus pedal if need be (there's a setting in the manual that explains how, and it works really well)

Btw, here's a quick youtube vid of my awesomely chorus'd bass sound. Love it.
