I just wanted to know if you could use the Boss PS-5 as an octave pedal. At some point i want a pitch shifter/harmonist pedal for my guitar and an octaver for my bass and if i can save some money by getting one pedal that does all then i'd be happy.

Its not bad. I don't know how the boss octave pedal does, but this sounds good unless you go to low(around E string)

Someone once explained it in physics terms about wavelengths and so on but I think my mind wandered off to think about boobies like usual. |

I've never used the PS-5, but its predecessor - the PS-3, is WEIRD on the low notes. Very unnatural, digital, sterile. Definitely more at home with the noisemakers than the funk bassists.
I should also mention, though, that the PS-3 is really something else in general... so you should probably ignore what I said.

So I have a Moog Ring Mod, and I was thinking it would be cool to send my own bass signal, pitch shifted, into the Carrier In jack. Would the PS5 be good for this, or is there another, less expensive option? |
