Boss PS-6 as a whammy?
 

I really want to buy this for the "super-bend" function.
Has anyone tried this out on bass?

I tried it when it first hit the market over here in the UK and though everything on it, including the S-Bend feature, sounded very, very digital and sterile. Just generally not a pleasant sounding pedal to my ears, but I know a few people around here use them, so you may get a different opinion shortly.

You will probably want to try it before you pull the trigger

yeah they sound digital and fake, but so does a whammy.

i gave one a go recently and i liked it, i thought the momentary bend thing was pretty cool and it takes up less space.

i still went for my wh1 though

I don't know about the PS-6, but I use the PS-3 (because of the awesome mode 7) as a whammy, and I think it's quite close if not identical to the digitech sound.

I like the sort of "flute" like artificial tone.

Boss PS series is sterile. Very. EHX HOG is less so, but any whammy on a bass won't sound natural. Look at footprint and price. Make decision based on that.
