Boss PS3 Soundclips?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've searched around but can't find any, and I've always been interested in this effect.

Mostly because of it's potential to be a crazy noise-maker

Can anyone help me out?

I can kinda help....

Have a listen to a band called Cave In. Their album "Antenna" is littered with PS3, on guitar though so its not much help, but it might give you a bit of an idea plus its a cool album anyway.

Cheers Timi, I actually am a big Cave In fan, and know Adam McGrath loves his PS-3's. I was specifically looking for bass clips really. Thanks anyway though, guess I should have been more specific.

I haven't used the PS3 but I did have their old half-rack version of essentially the same effect, a low-res digi reverse-delay with pitch shift. I don't remember the model # right now, maybe RPD-10? It was very cool, but also noisy, glitchy, and rough sounding. I don't remember any loss of lows, but OTOH I was using it in a noise-band context with lo-fi gear. Anyway, it was indeed an excellent crazy noise-maker, and it's possible the PS3 is similar. Sorry I don't have any clips.

On a side note, I Googled "Boss PS3" just a few minutes after you posted this thread, and the thread showed up on the first page of the search! Talk about SEO!

I have this from the Neurolytic Collapse demo that we're doing. It doesn't show the PS-3 in all it's wonderful glory, but it's certainly there. I can do more if you like.

PS3-on-Bass

edit: I forgot to mention that there is a distortion pedal before the PS3 and this was recorded direct, and I don't think the speaker-sim is on in this bounce-down.
