I'm thinking about picking up one of these off the bay. Has anyone used it before enough to give it a thumbs up or down? Hinderance on the sound? I'm just looking for something to use as a master loop switch, but the power supply is a huge bonus. Anyone used this doohicky beofore?

Andrew Weiss (of Rollins Band and the producer of a large percentage of Ween's catalogue) uses (or used) one. I think there is a photo of his board on this forum.

I have an old Japan one that has been with me for almost 20 years. It's been in and out of pedal board, and it never ever failed me. You can use it to power up up to 7 pedals 9V pedals (just be careful with power consumption) I found it to be very practical in bypassing my entire pedal chain so that I can get my clean tone straight into my amp. I actually had it for sale but decided I'd rather keep it than give it away for practically nothing.

Some say it's not true bypass thus a tone sucking pedal, Personally I never really noticed it.

I use it as my bypass looper. Bulletproof. Its not true-bypass, but I've never heard a difference. I never understand the people that complain about Boss's bypass. Its one of the cleanest buffers I've ever heard.

LS-2 is superior in almost every way, if you're willing to spend the extra $$s.

I own THREE of them! I love this pedal. To me, the benefits of silent switching and no audio dropout when engaged FAR outweigh the lack of true bypass.

Well yeah the LS-2 is a much better choice for little more money. It's not red though.
As for the power supply part, it does little more than saving one spot on your daisy chain.

I had a Japanese made one which I stupid left in our rehearsal room. When I went back it was gone. I'd do anything (within reason) for another one. It's a really useful pedal. Thumbs up from me...
