Boss RC-2 Can't delete Phrase

I must be stupid, but I can't delete the phrase that I stored in position 1 or the sample phrases up around numbers 8,9,10. I can read but following the instrucitons does nothing. What the heck?

The JamMan solution

Had the same problem with my JamMan Stereo. Digitech tech support said to turn the knob to a different loop then turn it back and do the delete process again. Believe it or not it worked. Maybe it's similar on the Boss.

Did you save the loop using the the save function? Or did you just loop something and you can't get rid of it? If it's just a non-saved loop then, yep just turn the knob to an empty space let the lights blink a bit and then it should be gone. Or just stop the loop and hold down the switch until the lights flash and then it should be gone.

If you used the save function there is whole procedure to deleting it that I can't remember off the top of my head.

I hesitate to admit this, but I will...

I should have look at the pedal, closer to my eyes, as I had selected "write" and not "delete." I thought they we one in the same detent...felt just about as dumb as possible. Oh well, all is right with the world.

It's not a very intuitive pedal, is it? I had a few probs working mine out until I decided to stop the ergophobia and read the manual.

Its a very simple pedal ... just select the phrase you want to delete, turn the far right knob to put it in "delete" mode ... ( next the the last position turning the knob counter clockwise ) & hold the tap tempo ( enter ) button down for a bit.

If that doesn't work the pedal is messed up.

you have to hit the (enter) button once, it'll start blinking
then hit it again... deleted
