Boss RC-20XL - Phrase shift delay?

Hi,

I've been researching the looping market, and see that I can get RC-20XL's at a decent price.

I noticed reviews of the RC-3 with complaints on shifting from 1 phrase to another having delays. Does anyone with RC-20XL experience find the same, or it's just a RC-3 short coming?

The 20XL seems like a decent box since I can load my own drum loops to practice to with that gap in function.
