Boss RC-30 tone suck?

Sign in to disble this ad
the guitarist in my band is seriously considering purchasing one of these, RC-30.
he currently has a Jamman looper that sucks the living crap out of his tone. i mean it's night and day when it's bypassed!
he also has a Boss RC-20XL which is dramatically better. it doesn't suck tone nearly as much, if at all noticeable when bypassed.

so has anyone purchased the RC-30? does it retain the same quality as the RC-20?

I'm sure. The Boss bypass is really just fine IME, just make sure the input and output levels are at unity. I've never trusted Digitech's quality.

They're not available for purchase yet, so unless someone here has been to NAMM (where you wouldn't be able to hear tone suck anyways), then no one here will know.

As said though, Boss bypasses are usually fine.

you know, that's in the back of mind with every digitech pedal that i consider. i even bought a Bass Squeeze for live purposes and i don't let it anywhere near my recording rig!
