Boss RC-50 Discontinued..?

Sign in to disble this ad
Sup TB,

I'm in the market for a loop station with many more features than my RC-3 and was looking at the RC-50. I noticed it's no longer listed on Sweetwater's site. Is it possible that it's been discontinued for a bigger and better RC-Station that's being released soon?

Thanks,
BiG-ULi

i brought an RC50 recently. my local stores phoned boss up, and i think there just stopping making it. at least in the UK. i think because people dont want to spend £380~ on a loop pedal thatll take up that much space.
saying that, i love mine (i ended up shipping one from the americas, from a store with some in stock). i couldnt live without the midi in/out. and the 3 phrases. and i dont regret the cost, or the footprint (even with my bright onion 4xswitch pedal i got them to make me [for play/stop all, and play/stop phrase 1-3). i want a smaller loopstation to go at the start of my chain, but am struggling to find a good one with midi, so might end up with another rc50, also my singer wants a loopstation, which well midi to the same tap-tempo (along with my delay).
in short, i think there discontinuing it. i dont know if there replacing it with anything (though if they bring out an RC-60, im getting it!). and that makes me a sad panda.

FYI, the EH2880 has midi implementation, so you don't need the extra foot controller if you already have a midi midi foot controller. There's also the Riffbox, though loops cannot be stored and there are other limitations:

RiffBox

Boomerang is coming out with an add on to their Boomerang III called the Sidecar pedal that will allow for midi as well as other functions. This article makes mention of it and it was supposed to come out in April/May, so who knows. Personally, the idea of having a second pedal the size of the Boomerang III just to give it midi functionality and additional functions is ridiculous, IMO. Combine it all into one pedal!
