So I was bored and I picked up my dad's rotary pedal he uses for his keyboard and plugged my bass into it!

It's supposed to imitate the classic Lesley with rotary woofer and horn- pretty neat I thought. I came up with some pretty cool riffs on it.

My only question is how is this thing different than a phase shifter?

Might be neat for a different album intro or outro.

Don't know if this is appropriate (reviving a somewhat dead post after three days), but I'm buying this pedal today, and I'll tell you how it is different.

Of course, given my employment status (or lack thereof), I shouldn't, but I think long jury deliberations are in order, so I deserve something like this.

I humbly request review + clips on this thing, I've always wondered about it, and wanted to hear a bass through it.

I have one. I don't see it being all that usable on bass, but I'll try to do a clip today sometime.

Ok. here's a clip of the RT20 on bass. It starts clean, then I add the built in overdrive, and then I switch to the Univibe model. You really need a good amount of treble in your sound for the effect to be more than just very subtle.

Thank you very much for this clip, this is exactly what I was looking for. I like it a lot. I go for a trebly, hi-fi tone, so the effect will be plenty pronounced on my rig. I like. GAS creeps a little more. . .

...the RT-20 is an excellent box...as is the RotoSim...for less $ (actually significantly less) you should strongly consider the RotoMachine, too, it does a very nice job...

Y'know, the only rotary sim I've ever been able to find offline is the RT-20. I really hope that my dad won't catch on to my owning this treasure - I don't have a full-time job, and I'm only getting $230 for jury duty. And it comes in a month.

A week later, and I absolutely love this rotary sim. Now, all that's left are the ring modulator, the flanger, new cables, and the Thunderfunk. You make my words: it'll be mine.

Thanks for the tip on Roto-Machine, got one on the way. I couldn't reconcile myself to the cost of the RT-20 (and definitely not the RotoSim). As well, it looks like the expression pedal is what really brings the RT-20 to life and that's another $60... I dunno... The ramp feature on the Line 6 sounds like it'll do the job. From the samples I listened to, it sounds like an excellent pedal for a very reasonable price.
