Boss RV-3 for bass - opinions?

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone use (or have used) the Boss RV-3 primarily as a delay within their pedalboard? I was able to pick one up last night almost new for $40 - which is substantially cheaper than a DD-3, and it appears to have most of the same settings.

After comparing the two, the only element lacking in the RV-3 seems to be the hold function (apart from slightly different delay settings, that is).

Any thoughts?

It sounds fine on bass as compared to the DD3. I'll take the verb settings over a hold function any day .
It'll work for ya and for $40, it's not too bad if you hate it and turn it around again...Someone will pick it up for more than $40 on craigslist/ebay...

Not my 1st choice for a reverb or a delay, but still, for $40...

That's the one w/delay & reverb, right? They have a good reputation & usually go for twice that, IME; nice score. I'd use it for faux-guitar parts on my 6, or lead/solo lines on fretless.

Pretty much what I thought when I bought it. Especially since the DD-3 in the case next to it was priced at $80 - and looked like someone tried to use it as a 'Slap Chop' replacement...while the RV-3 looked brand new.

Thanks for the input!

+1!

I just found one used for $80 and thought that was a good deal.

Nice score!
