Boss RV-3: "dead room" settings

Sign in to disble this ad
I've had this pedal now for a few months and been toying around with its different settings for delay, reverb and a mix of both, without finding one that's for me. There's slapback delay setting (on mode 2 or 3) that's rather interesting, but haven't really figured out how to get it to fit in my band's context. But I haven't given up.

However, I've used the manual's dead room setting (balance at noon, tone and r-time at 9, mode 8) and just by playing with prerecorded tracks (none with reverb or delay) in my home mini-studio, it just seemed to give a bit of a punchier tone to the bass and bring it out a little more from the mix.

Are my ears fooling me ?

those are my settings as well, the balance I do move to taste...great for tweaking a clean sound, and just that little something on the top of it. Gives better presence to my ears.

Presence... that's it ! Thx man. Also sounded good at the studio today, even more with a bit of SansAmp overdrive. I know the reviews on HC are not very positive about this pedal, but for my very few delay and reverb needs, it's OK. Plus, I'm on a smaller board at the moment, so it doubles as a space saver.
