boss super octave vs EBS OctaBass

Sign in to disble this ad
Any guys using octave pedals that could recomend a better octave pedal that the boss super octave? looking at dumping it for a better sounding pedal... or is boss super octave as good as it gets.... heard the EBS bass octave is good. any recomendations would be great! I have mainly analogue effects and when combining any of them using the boss octave it really sounds poor imo.

I think better is pretty relative here. I find the tracking to be a bit better on the EBS, and prefer the tone of it, but it doesn't cover the same ground IMO. The boss does that synthy midrangy octave thing really well, but the EBS seems to be better at filling in the bottom... seems more lows than mids (even on the midrange setting). If you can try the octave mode on the Digitech Bass synth wah, lots of people around here swear by it.

Also, where in the chain is the octave, and what other effects are you using...
