BOSS SYB vs BEHRINGER BSY

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all!

I've been looking for a bass synth without spending the $400 required to get an EHX pedals. I've played both the Boss SYB-3, and Boss SYB-5. Personally, I like them both, but for different reasons.

Anyway, I recently stumbled across the Behringer BSY600, a copy of the SYB-5. Does anyone know how it stacks up? I'm really interested in hearing some reviews!

I've played them both so I can give some info.

First of all, the sounds are identical to my ears.

The tracking is pretty close. The Behringer was a tinge better in that department for me, but then again I wasn't playing on my bass when I played the Boss.

I found that the Behringer does have slightly different ranges on the decay and frequency knobs, with the behringer able to go a little slower and lower in the frequency sweeps.

The Boss obviously slaughters the Behringer in quality of construction and how 'solid' it feels.

In summary, the Behringer is a perfectly acceptable substitute, although I admit that I step gingerly on it when using it.
