Boss T-Wah on bass

Does anyone has some experience with the BOSS t-wah on bass? It's an envelope filter, I know, but comparable with the Q-tron or not? I did not found any sound samples. Does anyone got some?

I tried one out at my favorite used shop a year or two ago. It was good, but I remember there was something amiss: there was either a volume drop or the low end went out...

Sorry I can't be more helpful. I don't suppose Harmony-Central has any bass reviews of it?

A little bit of both in my experience.

The TW-1 is great! Especially for bass.

He uses a Dynamic Wah. I had a T-Wah, couldn't live with the volume drop so i sold it. Ok for guitar.

That's funny, in my experience the Dynamic Wah had even more 'volume drop' then the T-Wah....

I have an old TW-1 as well. I've had it since the late 70's/early 80's, and I have to agree with the above...it's sounds good on Guitar, but for Bass, there is some low end loss and a volume drop (if I remember correctly).

I borrowed a TW-1 from a friend a few years ago. I liked it on guitar, but it thinned out the bass too much for my liking. I suspect it's a bandpass or high-pass, not low-pass filter.

Maybe worth to check out the (Mini/Micro) Qtron. No low end loss and a bit of volume spike instead of drop.

I recently got a Boss FT-2 Dynamic Filter (discontinued I think) on the cheap and was quite surprised to find a real nice easy to open funky envelope. I havnt played through it live or even loud but in the bedroom its great so far.

I tried the FT-2 but found it useless on bass. On guitar it is heaven!
