Hi all. I've been trying to diagnose an issue with my TU-2 and I can't for the life of me figure it out. I've browsed some different threads and web searches but nothing seems to match my particular issue. I have tried different cables, power supplies, batteries and mirrored the setup with different pedals to see if it is an amp/cable/bass issue and I believe it is a connection within the pedal itself. Just in case anyone is wondering, I have tried the following at different outlets in my home and another location
Bass -> amp (3 different cables) - no issue
Bass -> different tuner/pedal (3 different cables, 2 different power supplies, 2 different 9v's) -> amp - no issue
Bass -> TU-2 (same as above....cables, power, 9v's) -> amp - horrible buzzing sound
The sound is almost like what you would hear if you had an unplugged cable running to the amp and you touched your finger/thumb to it, but louder. It will happen on either the output or bypass connection, and occurs with or without a cable plugged into the input of the tuner.
I took the pedal apart and took a picture of the specific component for reference. The buzz happens when the cable is plugged in (left pic), or if I touch the cable tip to the component directly (circled in right pic). Sorry I don't know what exactly to call the metal tongue thing that the cable tip touches.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any thoughts/suggestions? My assumption is that its time for a new one.
Thanks!
