Question Boss TU-2 or Korg DT-10 Tuner Pedal

Sign in to disble this ad
I can get both for the same price so that isn't an issue and there are various opinions on each so i thought i would post a quick poll for your prefered pedal.

Thanks in advance

I think the Korg looks cooler than the Boss. I've also heard that the Korg tracks slightly better on bass, but I haven't compared them.

Korg hands down!! It tracks better on bass and you can still see the leds perfectly when the sun shines on it.
I am sure that there are a lot of TU-2 users who recognize this problem.

Another +1 for the DT-10. It's never failed me.

It's more accurate than the Boss, and looks so much sexier too

You're missing the boat by not getting a Peterson strobe tuner. You just can't beat them.

+572804765138078356734 to the Peterson Strobo stomp. Can't beat it with a stick. +/- .1 cent.

Given these two choices... the Korg DT-10 is the undisputed better pedal of the two.

Given a small budget... consider the Planet Waves CT-04 instead! Not as good as the Korg in terms of accuracy, but better than the Boss while still being cheaper!

I wouldn't get too hung-up on the accuracy... +/- 3 cent accuracy is more than good enough for stage tuning. But the Korg's +/- 1 cent accuracy provides better peace of mind for any tuning application.

I like that I can use my crappy TU-2 to power my other crappy Boss pedals.

I just purchased a Korg DT-10 on e-bay ($60 or so including shipping), so that's what I voted for. I don't have it yet, so I can't say too much about it.

Everything I've read on either pedal has been positive. The TU-2 seems to be the standard, and has the added bonus that you can daisy chain from it to power other pedals.

The Korg has better accuracy (which seems to be really overrated IMO when you're getting as accurate as the Strobo Stomp or other pedals - but that's a whole other debate), and looks cooler, and apparently has brighter LEDs.

From what I've heard, the Korg is basically their rack mounted tuners in a pedal format. The Korg rack mounts seem to be pretty popular.

You can't go wrong either way.

I own the DT-10B which also has the fnction of powering 3 extra pedals from it, and it's still 30%cheaper compared to the TU-2!
I also found it to be more practical considering the fact that the LED visibility rocks!

+1Korg

I voted for the TU-2. Although I haven't tried the Korg, the boss works great. I've never had a problem tunning up, even with bright stage lights shinning on it.

Accuracy does seem to go down noticably once the batter starts to go. You can see for yourself tuning up with a weak battery, and then popping a fresh one in. More often than not it'll be a little out.

I vote for the DT10 simply because I had a Boss TU2 years ago and ended up selling it because I found the tracking a bit slow, the LED display not very bright and I didn't trust it's accuracy.

I got the DT10bk a while back and it is faster, brighter and more accurate than the Boss was.
