BOSS TU-2 Mod?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've recently had to play a few gigs outdoors in bright sunlight, and have had issues with tuner visibility. Does anyone know of a mod that will make it reliably visible in direct sunlight? Maybe backlit like those old Indiglo watches? I tried a net search to no avail ... just a bunch of posts about how it's perfect as is and doesn't need any mods.

I would imagine that wouldn't be an easy or cheap mod at all. you may come out better off just buying a new tuner that would be lit better to suit your needs.

but seriously, form a shade out of cardboard and face it in to the sun, so you have a shadow for your display.

I always thought it would be cool to replace the "in tune" LED in the center of a regular tuner pedal with an Ultra Bright - still wouldn't do much for your problem, though.

I wonder how the Turbo Tuner does in this kind of situation?

I see what you did there...clever.

Do Sonic Research tuners have the same issue?
