Boss TU2 Issue

This tuning pedal is my favorite.
My problem is that the input jack causes loud buzzing and crackling if the input cord is bumped, touched or jiggled.

Once I open it up, what can I do to remedy this?
(The screw on the jack is not loose, and there is no soldering issue that I can see.)

Is there something grounding out inside the jack?
Hoping someone else has had a similar problem and can help me out.
Big show Friday night, and I would like to use this pedal, for tuning and as a "mute" switch.
