Is there a way to mod my boss tuner (tu-2)to be true bypass?

i really noticed some tone suck last practice... i took it out of the chain and my tone was back!

There probably is, but you might be better off selling it and getting something like a Korg Pitch Black that already is true bypass. Modding the Boss wouldn't be easy and would not be cheap.

And, you'll get a more accurate tuner out of it, to boot.

yeah it was plugged in, i also use it to power other pedals in my chain. the truth is i usually only tune once before i start jamming and my bass will stay in tune for the rest of the time. i could probably get away with getting a one spot to power my other pedals. i usually use my tuner in my guitar signal chain anyway...

Does that Korg Pitch Black disconnect the battery when it is in bypass mode?

I don't use a power supply (and don't want to get one). I would like my
tuner to only be powered when I'm using it. The Boss TU-2 is constantly
draining the battery when an input is plugged in. I would like an
electronic tuner that doesn't do this.

According to the manual, no.

Note: Connecting a cable to the Input jack will turn the power on, but the tuner will not be in tuner mode. Press the TUNER ON/OFF switch to engage tuner mode.

To conserve battery life, disconnect the cable from the INPUT jack when not in use.

+1. Basic, but solid as a rock.

you could always put the tuner in a true bypass loop.
they are cheap and easy to build or fairly easy to find already built
