My feeling with Boss pedal demos is that they always sound really different online than they do through my rig. I don't know if I'd call them misleading per se (not as much as say, a dirt box into an expensive tube amp) but definitely not something I'd base pedal buying decisions on.

I think even Boss dont quite know who they're meant to be aiming the Fender Bassman pedal at, I think they intended it to be for guitarists' as their website makes no use of it being used with bass, (until the virtual pedalboard) and the soundclips are all guitar soundclips.

Almost all i've heard from bassplayers who've tried it say its not great for bass and by that i assume that there isnt enough fundamental lowend enough for a bass guitar. But yet now Boss decide that yes it could be a bass pedal.
I wish they'd make up their minds and tweak the pedal accordingly.

if i was under any sort of impression that it worked really well for bass, i would buy one to compliment my VTbass
