Dialing in the mids is key for bass guitar control as far as I'm concerned, and the Para Drive does it really well. I think it compares nicely to similar products for sure.
Congrats on a good purchase!

| | | | Makes a nice overdrive pedal. Good speaker sim.
Hate the midrange suck, but at least you can dial it back in. |

| | | | I guess there's a reason for it, but I wonder why the mid control boosts or cuts before the gain circuit, and that the treble and bass are after the gain.

I'm long time user of the previous DI and can't wait to hear the difference. I loved the way it made amps sound better when used them in churches that didn't have decent rigs.
So lowendblues, you have company while you wait.

It helps to create the "feel" of the amp emulation. By boosting the mids you are able to achieve more gain or by cutting the mids you can have a cleaner sound. Of course you can counter balance it all with the drive control as well. Both the midrange and drive are very interactive when the blend control is full up. |

I hooked it up to a leslie speaker I have and I just grinning like a kid on christmas!!!! That pedal makes cold, sterile soild state amps sound so warm.
