Which one would you pick, strictly for headphone playing? Also, assume they cost about the same (both are extremely cheap).

If you can get a BP-8, snag it! The BP-8 is the grand daddy of all multi efx and while not perfect there are sounds and functions that have not been beat. I use mine mainly for recording but also on a few gigs where sound quality is critical.

Cool, thanks. Is $60 a good price for a BP-8?

Yes that is quite good since they are usually more like $100. Be sure it is all in good working order.
