BR-2 Withdrawal......fatman?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm seriously missing that little black and yellow crazy autowah on my board, and seeing as i can't find one anywhere, has anyone been able to get "that" voice out of a WMD fatman? the Prometheus just doesn't cut it, any setting that comes close goes squelchy if you hit the note to hard.

even the band noticed it....."what happened to that little black pedal you had that would have gone great there"

I'm afraid I've never heard the BR-2 so I can't really answer your question... But the Fatman works best on bass when set to lowpass with the range set between 3-6, giving a really deep dubby jungle drum'n'bass 'womp!' sound. It can do a few Meatball-esque regular filter sounds too though. If you've got a clip of the Guyatone, I can tell you if the Fatman will be able to be there or not.

it doth 'womp!'

and not much else. although a student at the collective got a somewhat convincing enveloped slap tone with it.... before i told him that my rig was never to be slapped through, except during moments of extreme irony.

The BR-2 is quite a unique sound. My 3Leaf can get a small portion of that sound and doesn't sound like crap if you hit it hard. I have both of these pedals.

It'll come close to both sounds in that clip - the first half where it's deep and dubby and the second half where the filter opens up a lot higher and there's less low end - but you won't be able to get from one sound to the other without tweaking the range knob. I suggest buying one online from somewhere that has a good return policy if there's nowhere for you to try one out in person!

They don't make them anymore danny. Timmy, I see them pop up time to time, just be patient and don't pay more than 90$
