Brand-New Pedal. Input Jack REALLY Stiff. Problem?

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got an MXR Bass Octave Deluxe and the input jack has a LOT of resistance to the cable-end going in.
The pedal works fine, but it's the tightest input I've ever seen.
(Insert HA, HA funny jokes here)
Anyway, it's kind of a scraping feel when I plug the patch cable into it.
No big deal, or what?
Thanks.

What cable are you plugging into it? Some are slightly oversized.

Sometimes when it's too tight you need lube

I would, but I don't want to void (violate ) the warranty!

Another fat 1/4"-er?

Monster cables gave me a lot of grief until I finally figgered it out.

Trash them or at least cut the ends off and reuse the cables.
The cables are fine - the jacks need a redesign.

Good to know.
I'd rather not hassle with a return.
Thanks.
