Due to the fact that posters on the effects forum have given me so much GAS for effects that I cannot find in my local stores, after years of resistance I signed up on Ebay. 70 bucks here, 95 bucks there seems so easy to part with Thanks TBers!

This morning I pulled the trigger on an item, broke my Ebay and Paypal cherry, and now have a new Ibanex Weeping Demon Wah Pedal on it's way to me. Can't wait to try it out!

On a side note, after years of having a Canadian $ worth only 65 cents of an American $, the Weeping Demon was actually a couple of bucks cheaper in Canadian dollars than American. Go figure.

Now what else can I find on the evil known as Ebay..........

Well, at one point, you could find weapons, alcohol, brides, slave children, and other people's souls.

But they've cleaned up a lot since then - now it's mostly vintage junk, scams, an XBOX 360 signed by Bill Gates himself, and the ocassional treasure.

Hah! True enough...

I've been using Ebay daily for the last eight years, and it really is disappointing how much it's been dragged down to the lowest common denominator of the marketplace- a flea market full of identical plastic trash mass-produced in the third world, and used goods that are described as "mint" but arrive bent, scraped up, and hissing.

OTOH, I don't know of any better place to score random treasures once in a while!

When people talk of the good ol' days; that is what they are reffering to.

Craigslist is my preference, but not by all that much. I think I've had better scores there, but I've also come into contact with some very sketchy characters as well!

Craigslist is really taking over a lot of what used to be Ebay's market..... IMO I think this is a change for the better. The downside of CL is that it's not integrated with paypal and there's no feedback system.
