Broken EBS pedals - how to fix them?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys
I was carrying my pedalboard off stage a while ago and I tripped, sending my pedalboard offstage I got home and check all my pedals and my Octabass and Compulator were broken. The switch on the octabass doesn't move anymore, and the compulator's footswitch doesn't click anymore and wont turn the pedal on.

Is this something I can take to a local tech (guitar center?) and have them replace a part? Do I need to send them to EBS? I just got around to sending them an email this afternoon, I wanted to get input from you guys. What do you guys do when you break a pedal?

Some pedals are relatively easy to repair, but EBS pedals are not. I would NOT take it to GC. I would send it to the US office of EBS.

Also, I assume you meant "MultiComp", not Compulator?

send an email to ebs and they will send you a brand new switch for free. That's what they did for me and the pedal was not under warranty anymore.

I've emailed them twice with no response, and I can't find any US office information on their website. Any ideas? I have no idea when my pedal was built/bought for the first time, I bought it used, so I don't think I can count on warranty.

Wow, that stinks. I had no idea that EBS pedals were so delicate that two would break at the same time w/just one fall. I almost bought one in my "big pedal purchase" last week. The only reason I didn't is b/c honestly, I figured a chorus was more important than a compressor at this time, and bought a Boss CEB-3. I've had a Boss pedal run over by a car and it still worked (not kidding....knobs were cracked but pots still worked!). Not to mention various Boss/Digitech pedals enduring all sorts of abuse over the years. For $200 bucks a pop, I'd expect something pretty sturdy. Not bashing, just MHO.

Good luck to you, Coolrunner989; I hope EBS fixes them even though you don't have a warranty.
