Broken Whammy Pedal Switch

Sign in to disble this ad
So I played a show yesterday and when looking down at my digitech whammy 4 I was like ***! haha. The switch is angled like 40 degress and not directly upward. It still works and I can maneuver it into place but the simple fact is that it is busted and it's gonna need repair eventually. I know there's a specific guy who fixes whammy's but would a simple 3pdt switch simply do the fix? I don't know how intricate the guts of these pedals are but if you know anything about footswitches on whammy's give me your info! pics to come once i get a chance to take a photo. thanks guys!

It's not true bypass. As I recall it's an SPST momentary controlling an electronic switching arrangement. So a latching 3PDT would be a bad choice - if it's a momentary switch, using a latching one would mean you'd have to stomp twice to turn it on and twice more for off.

Figure out if it's momentary or latching first.

Yep, but it's about $55 to get it TB modded. Replacing the switch - if you can work a soldering iron - will be a couple of dollars for the switch.
