Building a new Fuzz! Help!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all!

So, my newfound love of pedal making has me wanting to build up one of the Fuzz kits... but... with so many different ways of building them, i am overwhelmed!

I have narrowed it down to either the BYOC Large Beaver or a GGG Muff clone... but each one has multiple ways of building them, and most of the demos i have seen/heard are with guitars

So, do any of you have any descriptions of the different builds or preferences? At the moment i am leaning twards the GGG tuned GGG muff...

Thanks!!

Triangle - lots of bass, lots of fuzz, heavily scooped mids
Ram's Head - lots of gain, heavily scooped mids
Violet Ram's Head - a bit less gain than the Ram's Head, but way more mids, good fuzz
Green Russian - low gain, beloved by many
Black Russian - low gain, muddy
GGG-tuned - high gain, lots of fuzz, lots of mids, biting
