I don't know about y'all, but I make my own pedal boards.
Just wondering how many people buy their pedal boards, or how many D.I.Y.

I made mine

Cost me $30.00 and an hour. All I needed was a saw, a hammer and some nails.

My house actually came with a pedalboard. I call it "the Floor Board"

When you build a board you can make exactly what you require. Less expensive and you get exactly what you want.
Win win situation. That is if your handy with some tools?

I make my own. I have several playing situations and they all have different effect needs so I have several boards in rotation from a 2 spacer to a 12 spacer.

My guitard player took a piece of board, indoor/outdoor carpet, spray glue, and two handles. Been using it for about 5 years now.

Built mine out of some lexan we had kicking around, a few hours and $3 worth of silicon glue. Add some velcro and you are all set.

I just use varying lengths of plywood covered in duct tape and velcro strips with some rubber feet to give it an angle. From there I have an EHX pedal bag kinda thing to throw it in. I have a few different lengths for whatever rotation of pedals I may need for each gig. It's worked well for the past few years.

I was actually just thinking about making my own today since pretty much all of em are extremely expnsive for their purpose.

Anyone ever think about making a "staircase" type one? Like maybe just 2 levels, the second being elevated maybe an inch and a half above the first.

The only downside I can think of is your leg getting tire from lifting it up a little higher.

Or has anyone made a slanted one? Are those any good?

I've made two so far.....

The first was slanted - bot rid of it cos the slant made it hard to cover/transport.
My latest is just flat - and boxes up like a suitcase.
Easy!

I've both made and purchased, but since moving far from my folks I don't have access to either the tools or the materials available to me for building one at the quality level I'd want: my current is bought and I love it.

oops, I voted buy by mistake. I haven't built it yet, but I intend to make one when I get one or two more pedals. I'm thinking of a seriously multi-tiered design with an upper shelf for my 4-track and possibly a mixer and drum machine().

I bought mine out of convenience, but I did make a wooden carrying case for my old pedal board, which now that I sold could actually just be a pedal board. My problem with it is that it is huge and hard to carry around. I bought an Pedalpad AXS lite because it was cheap (got a deal), came with a power supply, and I can route my cables underneath it.
