Buying Sadowsky Preamp/DI in New York City..

A friend is travelling to New york, we live in south america. However he accepted to buy the sadowsky preamp, he asked me to find all the information so he buy near the places he will visit.
I think Sadowsky factory store is not so close beacuse he told me to find something in the center of new york, the tourist places like for ex.Time Square.
Do you know if he could find it near those places??
It should cost the same price as in Sadowsky official store??
How much extra I have to pay for tax insurance??

Sorry not to answer your question, but there is a like new Sadowsky pre in the classifieds here. Might be easier and cheaper to go that route.
