BYO Foot Switch for expression jack

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok i have a PS-3 and it has an expression jack that can use a regular expression pedal or a foot switch to change between two settings.

Does anyone know where i can find how to build a foot switch, the two way one?
I have searched the web and cant find one anywhere (mainly cause i dont know how to narrow the search beyond "foot switch")

You just need a single pole momentary switch. Wire the sleeve to one side of the switch and the tip to the other. Something like one of these. I don't know if this is the best place to buy, but you can see the options.

If it can use two pushbuttons, then you use a TRS jack and run one switch tip to sleeve and the other ring to sleeve.

Here is an exact switch you can use.

The drawing should look more like this:

What I drew functions like a Boss FS-6 in momentary mode.

If you only need one switch capability, just take one of the switches that I showed you and wire one terminal to the tip and one terminal to the sleeve. Then it should function like a FS-5U.

Dude, these are pretty darn sweet if you ask me. BYO if you want, mine came to my door with no shipping charge and no sales tax.

If I'm gonna tinker with something it will be 1) to save cash or 2) to make something I can't get elsewhere very easily.

But if you're a confirmed tinkerer, I say go for it!

My sarcasm font must not work with your browser.

I would very likely purchase something like that if I only needed one, but the duals usually go up in price enough to make it worth my cheapness.
