Bypass of Ibanez Tone-lok pedals

Does anyone know the bypass mechanism of Ibanez Tone-lok pedals? Well, in fact, I couldn't care less about the technical aspects of their bypass. What I'd like to know is whether they color the tone when deactivated.

I'm interested in getting a delay pedal and the Ibanez pedal has the lowest price and yet lots of features.

I used to own an a DE7 and a PM7... the buffers seemed fine to me.
