calling all βΘИΞКЯŲŜĦers...

on tuesday I'm adding an ODB-3 and a MT-2 to my board, maybe to put in a loop to maximize destruction.

right now im running Bass --> X2 --> Danelectro flange (DOD on the way) --> Rocktron Chorus --> Sansamp BDDI

my question is, should I put the βΘИΞКЯŲŜĦ first in the chain or just before my sansamp? my bddi is also my preamp so i don't want to put anything between it and my poweramp, right?

all i need is my korg pitchblack now and my board will be complete (for now!)

also, and i will search, but has anyone combined the metal zone and the ODB-3? I found the ODB-3 for $20 on CL a few miles from my practice space and the metal zone has been hanging around my house for a few years, and i just figured, i might as well try it out.

I prefer my dirt to be first in my chain and to step up the more aggresive that they get.
for example I run to OD first then Dist then Fuzz

I would put the ODB-3 directly in front of the Sansamp and run it as a dirty boost and the Metalzone before or after the flange depending on your preference.

Sansamp last.
Depending upon how you set your vol. levels - it can really hurt your tone with dirt AFTER the sansamp. IMHO of course

id put all dynamic effects before the BDDI and all modulations after to simulate an effects loop.

Simulate an effects loop? How so?

an effects loop just places things in the signal path between the preamp and power amp (because most modulation sounds better AFTER drive, which is found in the preamp circuit).

so by placing them after the BDDI, which is being used as a preamp, and before the power amp, you have simulated an effects loop.

+1 but leave the sansamp last. It will allow you to tame things a little, treble wise.

I'd go MT -> ODB too since the ODB has a blend, and ive heard its rather fuzz like. Then you can blend the MT sound in with the ODB.....

i was sort of waiting for daniel tulip to weigh in, that is something i hadn't thought of, pairing the metal zone to the odb-3's blend. that aloong with my sansamp blend might allow some non- eq-ed bass to sneak through the board.

i'll try it when i get to practice today, and then report back

I did the whole blend thing with my Hematoma and my Attack Goat. The AG had a blend, and the Hema is really dark anyways so it killed the goats sound if I put it before it. It worked really well IMHO.
