Can anyone help me find a pedal?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I was watching john frusciante playing live and on one of his his solo's, well he seems to use this effect alot, but on this one it was the perfect example of what i'm looking for, he was changing the sound with the pedal as he was playing, like the effect was getting more and more harsh as he was playing, so am assuming it must be a pedal like a wah where you can control the effect with your foot, if i can find the video agin ill post it, but i cant find it, i know theres not much chance of anyone know what i'm talking about through that discription, but its werth a shot, anyone know?

It's probably one of the many moog pedals he has that did that. I have the ring mod, but haven't tried it with an expression pedal yet. Either the ring mod, lowpass filter or the frequency box. That's my guess...

I am always amused by that picture vs. the general populace of the TB Effects forum. Here's a dude who has two dozen pedals, maybe three of which are true bypass, and he's not freaking out about tone suck, while half of us can't imagine running more than a handful of pedals without a TBP strip.

Maybe there's no point at which he has a completely uneffected tone, and therefore doesn't need to worry about the original tone coming through? Bass players tend to use their uneffected tone more than guitarists.

I couldnt find the orginal video i was talking about, but heres another one, the very first solo you here, which pedal is that?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUJHEdQBAr8

theres also this video of john holding the sustain for crazy long at the end of give it away, hows he doing it, is that even possible on bass?
I've just got a bass big muff, and i like the distortion with the bass boost on, a nice warm distortion, but the sustain knob doesnt really add that much sustain on the high notes, is that the pedal or the bass, i do need new strings on tho.
