Can Boss AB-2 switch expression inputs?

Sign in to disble this ad
Considering a moog Mp-201. I would start by using it to send a synced LFO to the cutoff on my MF-101. What I want to know is if I use a boss ab-2 can I send the normal expression pedal into one input and the mp-201 into the other, send the output into the cutoff Cv in on the mf-101, and switch between the two to choose which one I want to use to control the cutoff? Does the AB-2 only send audio or can it also act as a hub for CV?

MT!!!

This won't work since the AB-2 is monophonic (and i think it might be buffered too, but not sure about that).
The jack form the expression pedal (and mp-201) has 3 wires, one is ground, one is power, and one is the "signal".
What you need is an unbuffered stereo-AB box/switch.

Good luck

Thanks for the info.

Anybody have any reccomendations for an Unbuffered stereo AB switch...?

Probably can just have a seperate patch that controls cutoff on mf-101 manually via mp-201. However, still would like to know about unbuffered stereo
ab switch..

http://www.artecsound.com/effect/se-swb.htm

that seems to be what I'm looking for. It doesn't specifically say if it's stereo capable, but it refers to it being capable of different switching applications, ie: speaker cable, high voltage, and audio.

Any thoughts?

Still no stereo I'm afraid...
I dug around on the interwebs, couldn't really find anything use full. I once saw someone who made expression pedals with two switchable outputs, but that's not what you need i guess.
If you have some experience with soldering, going DIY might be the easiest. (It is a really simple project)
Or have someone build you one, or just use the mp-201
