Can I buy this part in an electronics store? (Fulltone Bass-Drive content)

Sign in to disble this ad
I was having trouble with one of my switches on my Fulltone Bass-Drive Mosfet so I took the switch apart. Unfortunately, I lost one of the pieces in the process. Here's a picture:

Is this something I have to special order or is it a common electronic thingy I can buy at Radio Shack? (No, I'm not talking about the penny! )

Sorry, I'm sort of an electronics newb.

Is this part of one of the toggle switches? You won't find that little piece in any electronics store, even a big one as far as I know. Since a toggle switch costs about 50 cents, there's no reason to stock all the teeny bits inside them.

I would take the whole switch to an electronics
component shop and replace the complete unit.
Parts for switches are generally not for sale.
The reliability of the switch has been compromised
by pulling it apart. You may have lost other parts from
within (e.g spring or bearing).
Your question can be equated to taking a blown light bulb
to have the filament rewired. No disrespect meant but it
is just not done/worth it.
A little more upmarket/specialist electronics component store than radio shack should have the part. Phone around.
The switch should be branded on the side or bottom with make and p/n.

Try;
Arrow North American Components - Phoenix
2552 West Erie Drive
Tempe, AZ 85282
Phone#: (480) 966-6600
Fax#: (480) 966-4826

Good luck

Thanks for the replies guys. No offense taken.

The guitarist in my band works at M-Tronix in Mesa. I'll bring the whole unit to him tomorrow and see if I can get a repair for cheap. It's nice to know these switches aren't expensive. I've been messing around with it a bit tonight while waiting for replies and yeah I'm just making the switch worse (more compromised as you would say).

A top notch toggle switch shouldn't cost more than 3 ~ 4 bucks.

And one that's still OK, but doesn't have a brand stamped on it about 0.50€ (~0.70$). If you soldered before let your friend show you what he's doing there & you should be able to fix it yourself the next time...

Edit: Oh, btw: I don't use SPDT switches (the blue+red ones) anymore since the seem to be too fragile. I instead use mini DPDT switches, which are not that much bigger but a lot more reliable (plus you can use all the rows at the same time, if something fails it doesn't matter most of the times since you got the other rows working).
