Can I get my VT Bass to get the same sounds as my Sansamp RPM

Sign in to disble this ad
I have both of these and love them both. My RPM is in my big rack which I don't always use and my VT is on my pedal board which I use with IEM, small rig etc.

Obviously the RPM has the blend and sweepable mids but I am just wondering if people have done any close comparisons between the 2 and managed to come up with similar results?

I would imagine you could get pretty close. You do know that the RPM is a rackmount version of the Para Driver DI don't you?

Yes - I was aware of the Para Driver/ RPM relationship.

Don't get me wrong - I am getting tones out of the VT that are around the mark, it's just that the RPM seems so much easier to dial in.

I was just wondering about other peoples views re the 2 products and if they thought they could get similar results.

Well, I had Paradriver, sold it and bought a VT, sold it and bought a VT Deluxe, and have now sold it and bought a Paradriver again. I have made that full circle and am happy to be back.

I guess what I am saying is, if you like the RPM...but want the same sound in a pedal...why not get a Paradriver and have the same thing?

You may find the RPM a bit easier to dial in because the Character control on the VT Bass adjusts more than one parameter simultaneously. You can get close to some of the sounds of the VT Bass with the RPM but it won't be identical. There is some tonal overlap but they are different.

I couldnt have said it better myself, 100% agreed.
the onlything to add to this is that the VT has a certain 'bubbly fatness' that the RPM doesnt.

Btw, I have many different sansamps. if i had to chose one it would be the BDDI.

Thanks for the input everyone. Loving them both and enjoying dialling them both in. The Character know is obviously the key. Not having the sweepable mids is also a big thing too.

I know the Para driver is the same as the RPM but didn't want buy to identical pieces of gear.

Cheers!
