One of my pedals wants a 300mA 9v power supply , I have a 9v 1000mA adapter , is that o.k to use ? My understanding is it wont work with a LOWER mA adapter but with a higher one its ok ? . Thanks in advance

It's ok. With current (Ampere) it's basically that the device draws what it needs.

In other words: At home, it doesn't make a difference either whether you plug a hair dryer or celphone charger in a wall outlet.
