EHX MP - dry, sub octave, octave up
octave up gives abit of crisp to higher notes but the lows sound too digital
MXR BOD - dry, mid octave, bass octave, mid switch
good anolog sound but no octave up
this is a hard one |

+ polyphonic. |

I ended up selling it for a Boss OC-2, because thats the sound i was going for.
Over all a very good pedal |

If you want a thick sounding octave pedal, then you go with the mxr, if you want more a specialeffect then you get the POG.
One is for the regular band, the other for the experimental project (I know it's oversimplified, but somehow true). |

Sorry though, the clips came out with really low volume. There's also some bad technique going on because of how tired I am.
Clips compare: And some clips of my favored tones from each box. Preferred mPOG tone. Preferred MXR BOD tone.
This is the first time I've plugged the MicroPOG back in in a long time. I no longer require polyphonic tracking. The MicroPOG's octaves also lag a little bit, creating this very very light reverb kind of tone. The MicroPOG definitely adds depth to your playing and would do well as an always-on pedal since the sub-octave can be a bit subtle.
I much prefer the tone and versatility of the MXR BOD. With two different octave voices, a mids switch, and a very nice sub-octave-only tone I've just found this the superior octave pedal for my desires.

Like others have said, the POG, is very digital sounding to me. A little too much especially on the octave up side. I really only use the POG with something else to cover up the digital sound. For example, I really like it's ability to thicken up a part when used with a Bass Muff. Alone though, the BOD sounds much better. It tracks well low but like I've also read in others' reviews, it has a tendency to have trouble hanging on to the notes on the G string around the 7-9 frets. I'd like to try the Aguilar. |

I thought that about the two pedals also, that the mPOG is a much more subtle octave down which adds depth to your tone and the mxrBOD is a beefy octave sound that once engaged is really heard.
