Carl Martin comp/limiter pedal favorite settings?

I am having a blast playing with this pedal. It is hard to make it sound bad, but what are your favorite settings (esp. for slap)?

Thanks.

Thumbs up

i'm in the same league searching for fave settings for this baby.. well, i had initially set it up like thres -1:00, comp 10:30, resp - 3:00, gain 12:00 this fattened my sound but took away some growl off.. still diggin' though, what is yours? any suggestions to limit the resonance but still growl??

peace

I've been leaving it on a medium compression type setting to even out the volume spikes for going from slap to fingerstyle.

Threshold-5, Comp-3, Resp-7, Gain-4.

The pedal does add some warmth, which seem to cover up just a tiny bit of the upper highs. Since I usually roll off the tone a quarter turn on my jazz anyway, when I use this pedal I leave the tone knob wide open, and it sounds 99% the same.

I said it took away my growl... Wrong!!!! it even adds growl without high resonance that will disturb ears.. My new settings are, Thres: noon, Comp: slightly below noon, Resp: all the way clockwise, Gain: 11 o'clock (but you may give as much/low gain as you like)

I'm begining to fall in love with this box... BTW since i'm not after too much of highs, everythjing is heavenly good for me now..

Cool. There is definite learning curve with this pedal, and some of the knobs are interdependent.

I have not tried the Demeter or EBS pedal, but so far the Carl Martin is the best comp/limiter I've found for bass in a pedal.

There are various comments about EBS some love it, some says didn't find what they were looking for. I went to the shop to get a Black Finger.. I'm a fan of tubes on stomp boxes (like EBS ValveDrive).. Anyways, they were out of BF stock. So I tried CM instead.. and that was it. i didn't need to search anymore.. Compression is up to ones taste i think.. Like i tried the DynaComp but it was not for me at all..

I had also tried the CM Bass Chorus there. Do you have any opinion on that??

I had the old CM Chorus XII pedal. It was nice but nothing extraordinary.

My current fav Chorus in the Analog man with the deep switch.

I am still playing with mine. Setting are currently thres just below noon, comp just above noon, resp about 3:00, gain what ever I need to be a unity.

I use the MXR 10 Band EQ before the comp... would that make any difference? maybe it's the setting i use on the EQ?
