Carl Martin power supply conversion

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all

I had a search for this info before purchase but couldn't find any firm details, so posting here in case anyone is searching for info about the internal power supplies later.

The description for the Carl Martin pedals always shows eg. "Power: 100 or 115 or 230 VAC 50-60Hz". Which leads me to believe it's an auto switching 115/240 type transformer. This is not the case. The "or" part means it is supplied with one of those voltage transformers specifically - a shame the sellers don't just list the one that they're selling!

I was going to buy a step down transformer for 240 -> 115 but I really didn't want to - those things heat up like nothing else and the cheap ones don't supply a very stable current for expensive and sensitive audio equipment.

Fortunately I checked with Carl Martin first, they offer new transformers for 20 Euro . Still way ahead over purchasing locally.
