Yeah, I guess it's just because people associate Carvin so strongly with the instruments and amps/cabs that "we" don't think of them as an effects-making company.

Well...it looks like a simple stereo dual-engine studio processor. It's not MIDI compatible, can't store any settings at all, and is rather limited in the effects it can do (reverb, delay, chorus and flange). I don't know if I would call it a multi-effects unit in the modern sense of the term.

I can see some big limitations in using this in a live situation. For the studio it looks like it would work just fine to color already-recorded tracks during mixing.

The answer to your original question is that I haven't tried it, because I don't have a need for a studio rack stereo processor.
