Catalinbread Mini Pedals - They Gone!

Sign in to disble this ad
Just saw a thread on TGP inquiring about future availability of the small form factor Catalinbread pedals and they are discontinued.

The rumor was confirmed within the thread by Catalinbread. Here's a link to the thread:

Irvinz......take care of those little pedals you bought from me....they may be on the verge of collectibles........DAMN!!

That's a bit of a bummer, as I always thought a Valcoder would be a cool way to sneak a trem onto an otherwise full pedalboard.

But otherwise I don't really care for those tiny boxes. It's cool as a novelty, but they are almost too small. Tough to step on and with a tendency to move when you do. I'd be afraid that I'd break the knobs.

Besides, look at something like the Dr. Scientist Tremolessence (still patiently waiting for mine) which is a "normal" sized pedal but with top mounted jacks. It basically ends up occupying the same space on a board as a CB mini.

And I think Catalinbread is right that they don't need the novelty anyway since they make really cool and interesting pedals.

Actually, I liked the design of those. Never played one though.

The one and only Catalinbread mini pedal I ever used was the Serrano Picoso. That little **** packed a lot of punch, but I want to get a tube amp before I get one again.

What a pity. I really like my V8, and have considered getting a Valcoder sometime. Oh well.

Not surprised at the statement that the SCP outsells the Serrano. Even for the extra $$$, the Fat mode is WORTH it IMHO.

Its never off.

Too bad.
Luckily I own a Valcoder and it's a great pedal. Would love to have the Hyperpak or V8 too.

Oh, well. Buying used is the way then...
