Lightbulb Catalinbread Pareidolia Harmonic Mesmerizer

Another new pedal from Catalinbread, who seem to be very busy lately! Spotted this one on a Tonefactor newsletter, they are taking orders now apparently. Seems like a cool blend between tremelo, vibe and phaser.

Here's the page with clips:

And if like me you wondered what the hell a Pareidolia was:

Quote:
Pareidolia (pronounced /pærɪˈdoʊliə/ pa-ri-DOE-lee-ə) is a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant. Common examples include seeing images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon, and hearing hidden messages on records played in reverse.

Sounds most like a Uni-Vibe to me and not too far from the BBE Soul Vibe but with it's own thing going on. Great tone.

Sounds lovely on guitar. Anyone have a chance to demo it on bass yet?

I think Grygrx has one.

In the amp demo, it sounded like the tremolo was affecting the highs and lows equally, but it seems to me that in the pedal demos, the tremolo affected the lower notes more. Could just be differences in the setups, though. I think I'll stick with my DOD Vibrothang. It's only issue, IMO, is high-end loss, which is easily remedied with a good EQ after it. Mix the tremolo with the phaser/autowah just right, and set the speed to fast but not too fast, and you get a nice woo-woo-woo-woo sound. I call it "spooky bass"! The DOD is misnamed, like a lot of vibratos in amps; it should be called "Tremothang". But with the "Doppler" control cranked, it gives you a little vibrato, and probably the best Leslie sim you'll find in an inexpensive pedal. Didn't mean to hijack the thread! Just thought that anyone interested in the Harmonic Mesmerizer might want to try the Vibrothang as well, if you haven't already.

Grygrx definitely has one. I asked about it in the PYPB thread, but he never answered back.
Hopefully he finds this thread and makes a full review sometime soon. I'm very interested to hear how this sounds on bass.

...also does anyone else find it ironic that the man in the moon is posting a thread about a pedal named after seeing a man in the moon?
