Sign in to disble this ad
hi, I just got some effects from a neighbor of mine who hasnt been playing bass for over 17 years or so. So he gave me this piece of equiptment today and i was just wondering if anyone new anything about it. The company is DOD. Its called 944 Chain Reaction Digital Effects. I dont know really to much about it, just that it works. I searched for a manual but did not succeed, so if anyone can tell me anything that'd be great, Thanks. If i can ill get a picture of it up.

haven't been able to find a manual yet, but here's something someone posted from diystompboxes.com:

DOD 944 Chain Reaction

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a rack mount unit. It has parametric EQ, flanger/chorus, Distortion, Digital Delay (Daisy chained). It was a popular effects unit in the 80's. It runs off of 120v.

I haven't been able to find any information about it. It has a foot controller that has a dedicated switch for each effect (on/off). It was a great idea but I guess the public didn't think so.

DOD / Digitech didn't have anything in the archives so I posted here.

I have this unit (digitech 944 chain reaction) for guitar. I don't know if it is the same as the DOD bass unit that you are refering to. I think DOD="Devision of Digitech". Anyway, I love this unit. My dad bought it brand new in 1986 I think. They seem to be very rare. I need to replace the cord that conects the pedal board to the unit and I am not finding any leads. If memory serves me correctly, not just any cord is compatible.I left a question on the Digitech site for help. Sorry to say that I do not have the manual either. If anyone can point me in a good direction it would be hugely appreciated. I have a lot of sentimental value for this unit.
